done is better than perfect

Hi Mamas,

In a busy mom world where we are always striving to get more done, we should try to embrace this concept. Easier said than done for the perfectionists and procrastinators among us! I am a bit of a perfectionist, so this is something that holds me back at times. I am working on giving myself the freedom to take action, make mistakes, and try again.

This is such an important lesson for our kids too. I have been telling mine recently (a lot!) that they will make mistakes, but as long as they learn from them then they are growing. I realize we have to model this ourselves so they can see it is good to challenge themselves, make mistakes and evolve.

Once a task or goal is completed, it makes us feel good. It gives us confidence to do the next thing, it changes our mindset and fosters positivity. When we are in this headspace, we are more creative, happier, more fulfilled and so in turn we are better moms.

So, let's work on Be[ing] More this week Mamas.

Have a great week.

Weekly Reminder - "done is better than perfect" (say in your head, whisper, say out loud, write it down and shout it out, multiple times a day).

Weekly Read/Audible - Feel the Fear by Susan Jeffers

Weekly Reset - Pick a task - home, work, kids, passion project, that you have been putting off. Just one! Look at your schedule for the next week. Estimate how long the task will take. Add the task into a time slot in your schedule - if it is a long project, pick a couple of different time slots so you do not get bored, discouraged or overwhelmed. Do the task. Feel good!
